Monte Carlo Exact Conditional Tests for Quasi-independence using Gibbs Sampling
A Gibbs sampling approach to estimating the exact conditional p-value for quasi-independence is described. As an example, a test for quasi-independence for the oo-diagonal cells of a 8 8 table is presented. The results are compared with an alternative simulate-and-reject procedure.
متن کاملTesting Fermion Actions: Scaling in the Schwinger Model
We test the scaling behaviour of Wilson, hypercube, maximally twisted mass and overlap fermion actions in dynamical simulations of the 2-dimensional massive Schwinger model. We also present possibilities to simulate overlap fermions dynamically by replacing the exact overlap operator by an approximate version. This approximation is used either as only the guidance Hamiltonian, keeping the exact...
متن کاملTesting for GARCH effects: an exact procedure based on quasi-likelihood ratios
A procedure is developed to test the null hypothesis of conditional homoskedasticity in the context of GARCH models. The approach is based on the quasi-likelihood function, leaving the true distribution of model disturbances completely unspecified. The presence of possible nuisance parameters in the testing problem is dealt with by using a pivotal bound and Monte Carlo resampling techniques to ...
متن کاملComputing p-values in conditional independence models for a contingency table
We present a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method for generating Markov chains using Markov bases for conditional independence models for a fourway contingency table. We then describe a Markov basis characterized by Markov properties associated with a given conditional independence model and show how to use the Markov basis to generate random tables of a Markov chain. The estimates of exact p...
متن کاملExact Tests for Contemporaneous Correlation of Disturbances in Seemingly Unrelated Regressions
This paper proposes finite-sample procedures for testing the SURE specification in multi-equation regression models, i.e. whether the disturbances in different equations are contemporaneously uncorrelated or not. We apply the technique of Monte Carlo (MC) tests [Dwass (1957), Barnard (1963)] to obtain exact tests based on standard LR and LM zero correlation tests. We also suggest a MC quasi-LR ...
